 •Military cannot interpret constitution, says  LP, tells DHQ to avoid politics The Defence Headquarters on Thursday described as unconstitutional calls for an interim government after the emergence of the president-elect. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Musa Danmadami, stated this in Abuja during the biweekly update with journalists on Armed Forces of Nigeria operations.  He condemned the clamour for an interim government by those unhappy with the outcome of the presidential election, stating that the ING  was illegal and unconstitutional. The Peoples Democratic Party,  the All Progressives Congress and the New Nigeria Peoples Party supported the military’s pledge to defend the constitution.  Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared that Nigeria is more divided than it has ever been after the 2023 general elections and called for national reconciliation to assuaged the aggrieved and the youths for national peace and cohesion. Ob asanjo who said he was too old to keep quiet on national issues, suggested three ideas to enrich the direction of the conversation at the event put together by Nextier, SPD, a public policy firm.  President Muhammadu Buhari has told Nigerians to explore legal options in ventilating their grievances over the outcome of the 2023 general elections. SHOCKING: Benue Council chairman’s son, 45 others killed in Otukpo

 Several persons have been killed in a deadly attack launched on the Umogidi community of Entekpa Adoka district in Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State by suspected killer herdsmen. We  learnt that the ugly incident which occurred on Wednesday led to the death of 46 persons, including a son of the Otukpo Local Government Chairman, Hon. Bako Eje. Lt Col. Paul Hemba (retd.), Special Adviser to Governor Samuel Ortom on Security confirmed the development to News Men on Thursday. He said, though the 46 corpses have been recovered, casualty figures may likely rise due to life-threatening injuries sustained by scores of residents during the attack. Igbo profiling: Ohaneze to petition Buhari, NASS over Lagos attacks

 The Council of Elders, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, on Wednesday, resolved to petition President Muhammadu Buhari over the Igbo profiling in Lagos State since the commencement of the 2023 general elections. The group also said they would send a protest letter to the National Assembly and other relevant agencies to communicate their feelings over the attacks on Igbos in Lagos. Ohanaeze revealed this in a communique issued after the Elders in Council Virtual Meeting held in Enugu and signed by the Chairman, Council of Elders, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the Secretary-General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Okey Emuchay, and others. According to them, they will formally petition Buhari to express their disappointment and sadness over the unfortunate development.
