Agbaso> Today was a joyful day as Some representatives of OLD BOYS of  Emmanuel College 08 Set  paid a courtesy visit to the newly sworn in  OWERRI MUNICIPAL Sole Administrator   Hon. Chidiebere Emeribe in his office at the Owerri Municipal council Headquarters. The Act. Chairman of the Old Emmanuel College 08 Set expressed joy on behalf of the old boys for having one of our own appointmented as Sole Administrator and prayed for God to grant him more wisdom to carry out his functions. In appreciation, the former Amawom youth chairman  now SolAd thanked his old boys for coming to pay him a courtesy call and promised to always carry the Old Boys along in the scheme of things. Some members of the House of  Representatives have proposed a bill to alter the 1999 Constitution (as amended)  to provide for a single tenure of six years for the president and state governors. The lawmakers led by Mr. Ikenga Ugochinyere, are also proposing a bill for the rotation of the office of President, governors and local government chairman, amongst the six geo-political zones, and constituent parts of states and council areas respectively. The bills, which were sponsored by Mr.  Ikeagwuonu Ugochinyere, Paul Nnamchi, Chimaobi Atu and 27 others, sought the alteration of the constitution to provide for two vice presidents in the country. The lawmakers were equally pushing for an amendment of the Electoral Act to provide for the conduct of presidential, governorship, and the National and state assemblies polls. Obi visits injured ex-Super Eagles winger Tijiani Babangida

The 2023 Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has paid a sympathy visit to the former Super Eagles winger Tijiani Babangida, who was involved in a fatal motor accident last month. The 50-year-old former Nigerian international who also played for Ajax football Club of Holland, broke his right leg in the accident that claimed the lives of his son and younger brother Ibrahim, who also played for Nigeria in the 1993 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning team. Tijiani’s wife was also seriously injured. Obi who spoke shortly after visiting the injured Babangida, in Abuja, Thursday said, both Tijjani and his late brother Ibrahim, made the nation proud with their service.
